A Magnetic Float Switch, also known as a magnetic level switch or float level switch, is a type of sensor used to detect the level of a liquid within a container, tank, or vessel. It operates based on the principles of buoyancy and magnetic attraction.

Product Details
Here's how a magnetic float switch generally works:
Components: The switch consists of two primary components: a float and a stationary housing. The float is typically made of a buoyant material like plastic or foam, and it contains a magnet. The housing holds the switch mechanism and usually contains one or more reed switches.

Buoyancy Principle: The float is designed to float on the surface of the liquid being measured. As the liquid level changes, the float moves up or down accordingly. The buoyant force exerted on the float is determined by the liquid's density and the volume of the float.

Reed Switches: Inside the stationary housing are reed switches, which are magnetically actuated switches. A reed switch consists of two thin, flexible metal reeds encased within a sealed glass tube. When a magnetic field is applied, the reeds are drawn together, completing an electrical circuit.
Magnetic Interaction: As the float rises or falls with the liquid level, the magnet within the float moves closer to or farther away from the reed switches. When the magnet gets close enough to the reed switch, it activates the switch by causing the reeds to come into contact. This completes an electrical circuit, indicating the liquid level has reached a certain point.

Output Signal: The change in the electrical state of the reed switch is used to trigger an electrical signal that can be used for various purposes, such as activating alarms, controlling pumps or valves, displaying the liquid level on a display panel, or sending data to a control system.

Advantages of Magnetic Float Switches:

Simple and reliable design.

Suitable for a wide range of liquids, including corrosive and viscous fluids.

Non-contact operation minimizes wear and tear.

Can be used for point level detection (liquid level reaches a specific point) or multi-point level detection (detecting multiple levels).

Applications of Magnetic Float Switches:

Liquid level monitoring and control in tanks, reservoirs, and vessels.

Pump control to prevent dry running or overfilling.

Sewage and wastewater treatment plants.

Oil and fuel storage tanks.

Industrial processes involving liquids.

Beverage and food processing.

Magnetic float switches are commonly used in various industries due to their reliability, simplicity, and ability to work with a variety of liquids. They provide an effective means of monitoring and controlling liquid levels in a wide range of applications.
